Setting Page Margins for Word Documents

Introduction to Margins in Word

The standard margins for a Word document are one inch at the top and the bottom of the page. The side margins are 1 1/4 inches. This will be fine for most documents.

But, you will want to change Word’s default margins from time to time. For example, you may squeeze an extra line or two onto a page rather than use a second sheet of paper. If you’re working on a resume, you’ll certainly need to make changes to the margins!
