Are you trying to limit how many times you move your hand from your mouse to your keyboard? Maybe you are trying to polish your word processing skills or speed up your formatting? Keyboard shortcuts will help you accomplish all of these tasks.
But how do you remember every keyboard shortcut? I recommend that you display Microsoft Word’s keyboard shortcuts in the ToolTips. These are displayed when you rest your mouse over a button for 1 second. This will help you learn one keyboard shortcut at a time and incorporate it into your shortcut repertoire.
To display keyboard shortcuts in ToolTips, follow these easy steps:
- Click the File tab, and then choose Options.
- Select Display.
- Verify that Show Document Tooltips on Hover is checked.
- Select Advanced and scroll down to the "Display" section.
- Check Show Shortcut Keys in ToolTips and click OK.
