Microsoft Word 2010 makes you press the Control key when you click on the hyperlink. This change took place in Microsoft Word 2003 and greater. You used to be able to just click on a hyperlink to access it. This can become very annoying when you insert web site addresses or tables of content in a document.
However, there is no need to despair. You can change how Word handles hyperlinks with a few simple clicks.
- Click the File tab.
- Choose Options.
- Click Advanced.
- In the Options section, remove the check next to Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink.
- Click OK.
Now you can just click on web pages and table of contents entries!
