Easy Ways to Slash Your Printer Ink Usage
Use Less Printer Ink With Ecofont

By James Marshall, About.com

Printer ink is ridiculously expensive. And, the used cartridges are bad for the environment. So, you’ve cut back on your printing and only print what you need.

The sad news is you’re probably still wasting ink and paper. Don’t worry—I have some easy tips that will help you conserve printer ink and paper. Both future generations and your wallet will thank you!

Ecofont
Can your font choice really make a difference in your ink usage? It can if you choose Ecofont. Thanks to Ecofont’s unique design, you’ll use about 20 percent less ink than you would with other fonts.

The theory behind Ecofont is pure genius in its simplicity. The font letters have holes in them. That means your printer sprays less ink on the paper.

The holes shouldn’t distract you enough to affect readability, but save this font for informal communications. That is unless you want to make an environmental statement with your formal communications!

Ecofont is free to use and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
