What's New in Word 2010

From , former About.com Guide

Microsoft Word 2007 was a radical upgrade from earlier versions of Word. Fortunately, Word 2010 won't be such a shock for those accustomed to Word 2007. Still, Microsoft has added some great new features to Word 2010.

First, there's a new search feature that promises to make it easier for you to find objects in your word 2010 document.

There is also a bevy of new tools to improve the look of your Word 2010 documents. Add effects to text, use new SmartArt graphics to create diagrams or use the new photo-editing tools.

New tools will help you recover Word 2010 documents if you accidentally close them without saving. And, new collaboration tools will appeal to work users. Several people can edit a document at the same time. Use the built-in tools to communicate with your collaborators. And, translation tools will help if you're working in different languages!

Office 2010 also promises to let you access your work from anywhere. For example, a new mobile app will give you access to your Word documents.

These are just a few of the best improvements in Word 2010. The best way to see what the new Word is about is to give it a test run. You can download Office 2010 Professional Beta from Microsoft's site.
