Inserting Excel Data in a Word 2007 Document

To edit the Excel data that you link to in Word, you must use Excel. You can open the Excel file as you would normally do.

Or, you can save yourself a little time and open the Excel file directly from Word.

To open your Excel file from Word, right-click the Excel data and select Linked Worksheet Object. On the submenu, click Edit Link. Excel opens the file for editing.

An even faster way to open the Excel file from Word is to double click the Excel data in Word.
