Inserting Headers or Footers With the Ribbon Button
When you click on the Header or Footer button on the Insert ribbon, you'll see a number of pre-formatted header or footer options.
You can also add a header or footer from the Insert ribbon. Just click the Header or Footer button in the Header & Footer section of the ribbon. In each case, you will see drop-down menus providing pre-formatted options. Select one to add it to your document or use the Edit option to create your own custom header or footer.
You will also notice the Page Number button. This provides options specifically for inserting page numbers. When you click the button, you’ll see a variety of options. Holding your mouse over the options shows a gallery of your options.
