Check for Word 2007 Updates

It is important to keep Microsoft Word 2007 up to date. Microsoft frequently issues updates that improve the performance, stability, and security of Word. Unfortunately, you may not be getting the updates you need to keep your version of Word in order.

Fortunately, Microsoft makes it easy for you to check for updates for Word and install them. But, you will need to do a little searching to find the Update option for Word 2007.

To check for updates, simply follow these steps:

1. Click the Office button

2. Select Word Options

3. Open the Resources section

4. Click Check for Updates

5. Word will open a Web browser window

6. If Internet Explorer is your default browser, you will see a list of updates that you can install

7. If you're using Firefox or another browser, click the Microsoft Download Center link

8. You'll see a list of popular downloads. You can search for Word updates

You should check monthly for updates for Word. Microsoft releases its updates on the second Tuesday of each month. Occasionally, Microsoft will release updates for critical problems on different dates.

A better solution is to use Microsoft's Update Center. You can have the Update Center automatically check for updates and install them. So, you don't need to worry about remembering to check for new updates.
