Inserting Watermarks in Word 2007 Documents
Picture Watermarks and Custom Watermarks

By James Marshall, About.com

Word 2007 has a number of standard watermarks. You can use them to help manage your documents. But you might want to use a watermark as a design element for your document. Or, you may want to tweak one of the standard watermarks.

Fortunately, Word 2007 makes it easy to customize watermarks. Simply follow these steps:

1. Open the Page Layout Ribbon

2. Click the Watermark button

3. Click Custom Watermark

4. Select either Picture Watermark or Text Watermark

5. If you're inserting a picture watermark, select your image and then specify the options for it.

6. For text watermarks, you have more options. You can select the font, size, transparency, layout, and color

7. Once you've made your selections, click Apply and OK.
