Adding Page Numbers to Your Word 2004 document

Page numbers are an important part of any document. This is especially true for reports and academic papers. You don’t need to add page numbers manually. Instead, use Word 2004’s Page Number feature.

1. Click Insert>>Page Number

2. Select Top of page (header) or Bottom of page (footer)

3. Select the alignment of the page number

4. Opt whether to show the page number on the document’s first page

5. For advanced formatting options, click Format

6. The diagram shows how your page numbers will appear

7. Click OK

8. The page number will appear in either the header or footer, depending on your selection
