Often you’ll want to see the changes that have been made to a document. This is particularly helpful when you’re working with others.
Word 2008’s Track Changes feature will help you see the changes that have been made to your document. The changes are incorporated into the document body. Different colors help you see any deletions or additions.
The Track Changes feature is not just limited to this. You can easily accept or reject a change by clicking a button. Or, you can accept or reject all changes, if you wish.
To use Track Changes, you must enable it first. Simply follow these steps:
1. Click View>Toolbars>Reviewing to show the Reviewing toolbar
2. Click Track Changes
All changes are automatically tracked until you disable Track Changes. You must enable Track Changes for every document you wish to track.
You can also select what is shown while you’re working on a document. A dropdown box on the Reviewing Toolbar gives you quick options for showing the document in original or final form. You can also opt to show the markup (changes) or not.
If you need more control over what is shown, use the Show button.
