Inserting Pre-formatted Headers and Footers With the Document Elements Gallery

A header or footer is a great way to keep the pages of your document organized. They can also provide important information about a document, such as when it was created or its title.

It is easy enough to insert a header or footer into your Mac Word document. However, you’ll want to format the header or footer to suit your needs and tastes. Or, you can take the easy route. You can use the Document Elements gallery to insert a pre-formatted header or footer in Mac Word. Simply follow these steps:

1. Click Document Elements at the top of the windows to open the gallery

2. Select Header or Footer on the bar that opens

3. You’ll see a number of available styles; use the arrow to see more

4. Use the dropdown box to specify whether the header or footer should appear on odd, even or all pages

5. Select the header or footer style

6. The header or footer is inserted in your document; you can begin editing it immediately

7. When you’re done, click in the main body of your document to continue editing it.
