By James Marshall, About.com

When you’re working in Word 2004, private data may be included in your document. This can include personal information and tracked changes or comments.

If you share a document electronically, this can lead to embarrassment or more serious consequences. So it is a good idea to remove this data before you share a document.

To help, Word 2004 can warn you before you share this information.

Click Word>>Preferences.

Click Security in the left pane

In the Privacy options section, select the following:
Remove personal information from this file on save
Warn before printing, saving or sending a file that contains tracked changes or comments

Click OK.
