Charts are a great way to display information in a document. Your readers can quickly view and understand data. Flow charts, in particular, will help your readers understand a process or work flow. Fortunately, Word 2008 makes it easy to insert a flow chart in your document.
To insert a flow chart in your Word 2008 document, follow these easy steps:
1. Position your cursor where you would like to insert the chart
2. Click SmartArt Graphics
3. Click Process
4. You can scroll through the thumbnails of chart layouts using the arrow on the menu bar
5. When you find one you like, double click it to insert it in your document
6. The chart appears in your document
7. Use the Text Pane to add labels to the chart
8. You can also modify the chart by selecting different options in the Text Pane
9. You can use the handles of the box surrounding the chart to resize it
