Microsoft Office Web Apps is a handy online word processing solution for Microsoft Office users. That's particularly true if you use Word 2010. You can upload documents to the online service directly from Word. Unfortunately, Office Web Apps documents can't be editing from the iPad's Safari browser.
That doesn't mean you can't edit your Office Web Apps documents on the iPad. It just means that you'll need to do a little work. You'll also need to download iWork Pages to your iPad.
Start by signing in to Office Web Apps in Safari. Locate the Word document that you would like to edit and tap its name.
The document will open up for viewing. To edit the document, tap the Download link at the top left of the document window.
On the next screen, you'll see a couple of buttons above your document. Tap Open in Pages on the right to download the document into iWork Pages for editing.
You may have other apps on your iPad that you want to use to work with your document. For example, you may have an app that transfers files wirelessly. Or you may have another word processing app. In that case, tap Open in at the top left of the window. You'll see a list of apps that can open the document. Select the program of your choice.
