WordPerfect - - Using SpeedLinks

By James Marshall, About.com

Adding entries to WordPerfect’s SpeedLinks list will save you some time when you want to add hyperlinks to your documents. It allows you to insert hyperlinks by typing a keyword. To edit the SpeedLinks list follow these steps:

1. From the Tools menu select QuickCorrect
2. Click the SpeedLinks tab
3. In the box under the label Link Word, type the keyword you would like to use to insert the hyperlink (Note: this word will be the hyperlink text)
4. In the box under Location to link to: type the web address or file path for the hyperlink (clicking on the button in the right hand side of the box will open a dialog box that allows you to navigate through the folders on your hard drive)
5. Click Add Entry and then OK

To insert a hyperlink using SpeedLinks, simply type your keyword preceded by @ any where in your document. This will also work for email addresses. If you would like to insert a link that opens a new message in the default browser, simply type email:username@isp in the Location to link to: box.
