Displaying More Files in the Recently Used File List

By , About.com Guide

If you do a lot of editing of your work, it helps to have quick access to the files you are currently working on. By default Word lists the last four files you used on the File menu, so you can access them without having to search through folders on your hard drive.

If you need to see more (or fewer, for that matter) recently used files, you can specify this is the Options dialog box.

To make your changes:

1. Select Options from the Tools menu
2. In the dialog box click on the General tab
3. Beside Recently Used File List: enter a number between 0-9
4. Click the OK button to save your changes

Next time you click on the File menu, your changes will take place.
