Why Do I Have to Hold Down CTRL?

By July 4, 2012

Following hyperlinks used to be easy in Microsoft Word. You would click on it and bam - you were there! Then, all of a sudden, you had to start holding down the Control Key to follow a hyperlink. When I upgraded to Word 2007, I searched high and low for the setting that controlled that feature. I finally found it, buried in the Options menu.

Now, I can just click on a hyperlink in my table of contents or document with no Control key interference.  Make sure you read Control How You Access Hyperlinks for Word 2010 and Word 2007 if it annoys you as well!

Thank you. It does make it so much easier to open hyperlinks w/out the ctrl.
