Tip of the Day: Displaying Shortcut Keys as Screen Tips
Sunday December 26, 2004
Shortcut keys will save you a considerable amount of time when you're working in Word -- you won't have to fumble with the mouse or search through menus for the command you need. Of course, before you can start using the shortcut keys, you will need to learn them.
While you can print out a list of all the commands available in Word, one of the best ways to start using the shortcut keys is to learn them as you go. You'll find that it is quite easy to learn the shortcut keys for frequently used commands, and pick up the ones for commands you don't use so much on a one-by-one basis. Word makes it easy for you by allowing you to opt to display the shortcut keys as a screen-tip; when you hold your mouse pointer over a toolbar button, the shortcut key will be displayed for you, so next time you won't need to use the mouse.
